Promoting Holistic Perspectives in Body, Mind, Spirit and Society

"When we try to pick out anything by itself
we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe."

-John Muir

Mother Nature is the perfect example of complete holism.

HORSE MOUNTAIN INSTITUTE  envisions that as we come to know our innate interrelatedness with all things we will be empowered to take on the many challenges we now face.

To make whole is to heal.

HORSE MOUNTAIN INSTITUTE is a nonprofit educational organization whose mission is to disseminate holistic, compassionate perspectives in all areas of society. We achieve this through projects that reinvigorate the way we think and act in our daily lives. HMI engages in educational activities that expand perspectives in the health of body, mind, spirit, and society. We use diverse media including movies, audio productions, print media, electronic formats and public engagement to spread our insights throughout the world. Our work is centered on broad, non-doctrinal views of wellbeing and a deep recognition of universal laws of healing that are common to all.

Who We Are

Founder Dr. Jim Lemkin seeks to "wake people up" to the sources of suffering that come from holding

limited perspectives and to enliven possibilities for inner growth that are available to us all. He is a licensed naturopathic physician in private practice since 1979, a former CEO and an award-winning filmmaker. The

work we produce is aimed at widening perceptions and examining our personal stories: who we believe

ourselves to be, how we view the world, and how we see ourselves in it. Since 1999, we have used

educational communications to build more holistic perspectives in people. Most of our media and public
outreach is offered
free of charge. We have more than 35 years of experience in holistic medicine,

communication, mentoring and entrepreneurship. We look forward to continue being a voice for

conscious awareness and action.
